Oklahoma has long been analogous with Bingo. That’s because the American Indian tribes of Oklahoma have provided Bingo sessions for ages. Guests from many of the nearby states load up in cars and visit Oklahoma to wager on Bingo on the weekends.
The 1988 IGRA followed a landmark decree by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year prior. Since that time, 23 of the thirty nine Indian bands of Oklahoma have introduced bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Amerindian band to take advantage of the gaming laws, and today run 10 casinos of their own. Bingo is the game on which the above-mentioned gambling halls were founded. automated games such as slot machines were not allowed, owing to the fact that they are thought to lead to gambling problems more than bingo.
In recent years, Oklahoma rules have changed to permit enormous Indian betting gambling dens. You’ll now see Native gambling halls with slot machine games, video poker and chemin de fer tables. Craps and roulette are not yet approved in the Native gambling halls as of yet, but this is simply a matter of time. Nobody can say what having different games in the bingo houses will do for the popularity of bingo.
